Afrique's Gourmet Pizza, Pasta, Steaks and More, Iloilo City

I feel really excited everytime I go to a restaurant or food place that I never visited before. Lucky enough because my new officemates were so kind to bring me to these places since I am not familiar with the city itself.

One thing that I really like about Smallville in Iloilo City is the chain of establishments itself. This is the place to be if you are really craving for food, literally. From Filipino dishes to American, Chinese and more. In short, this is a one-stop area for food spotting.

Afrique's is one of the establishments in the area that offers pizza, pasta, steaks and more. I was so excited when we head ourselves to this place because I've been hearing a lot of great reviews about them and now I get to try how their food taste like.

This is an Italian-inspired resto that is not intimidating. The ambiance itself is welcoming. It has a homy and comfortable feeling especially when you get inside.

The interior ws well-arranged and it invites positive aura to all dining customers. The lighting is really planned well especially the furnitures that are not really crowded.

Of course my mission is not yet over after assessing the place itself. Now let's get to the highlight of this post. My colleagues were so excited to order maybe because they are already hungry while I was taking photos of the establishment. In fairness, their serving time was really fast. Impressive for hungry customers. Here's what we ordered:

Penne Pasta - Php149.00

This pasta is drowned in heavy cream with sweet Italian sliced sausage, caramelized onions and roasted garlic. This is a good dish but not really a game changer. For me, it was really sweet because of the cream and I can taste that it's like an evaporated milk mixed with the well-cooked pasta.

Afrique's Special Pizza - Php319.00

This is one of the best pizzas that I've tasted in the entire city of Iloilo so far. It is overloaded with sausages, bacon, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, olives and the best ingredient that made it really great was the sauce that was so creamy. It was not the typical red, tomato sauce or any pizza sauce. It was really mouthwatering and the funny thing was, we were served 2 layers of pizza that time. Do you want to know why? To make the long story short, my colleague found a strand of hair on one of the pizza slices on our first layer then we called the waiter and good enough the waiter knows what to do next. He asked us if we want to cancel the order or just replace a new one. We opted to have a new one and imagine, we already consumed half of the first layer that was served. We were thinking of taking a photo of it but it wasn't already a big deal for us since the pizza itself was really, really good and we don't want to ruin the momentum of eating anymore.

Cucumber Cooler - Php165.00

This healthy beverage is a mix of cucumber, lemon and Mexican turnip or commonly known as singkamas. Oh so refreshing!

This experience that we had at Afrique's is one of the best when it comes to food and ambiance. I would definitely go back to this place and try their other specialties.
