Torta Og Uban Pa's Cupcakes, Catmon, Cebu City

If you can still remember my post about the torta of Torta Og Uban Pa in Catmon, Cebu City (post here) where I was really craving for it and I was thankful that one of my officemates gave me a box of 6 and that didn't stop me from craving for the said pastry. It even reached to the point that I did a lot of research about this hidden treasure somewhere in the North until I was able to communicate with the owner named Annelise who is really nice and down-to-earth. I added her on Facebook with the intent of knowing more about her pastries but I was excited to find out that she was hosting a mini-contest as a way of thanking her valued customers. She was giving away a box of 6 tortas to the 1st, 10th, 25th, 50th and 100th person who can answer her question and post it in Facebook. Luckily, I was the 10th person who was able to answer the question and because I was so eager to taste her cupcakes, I tried asking her if it's alright to have the cupcakes instead of the torta and I got her big yes!

What is good about Torta Og Uban Pa is that even if you can't go to their branch in Catmon, Cebu, they would still accept your orders and will let you take it from their address in Lahug. This is what I did when I claim my reward from Annelise but sad to say, I wasn't able to meet her because she was terribly busy with a lot of things and I understand. Maybe next time Annelise, right?

When I received the pastries, it was placed beautifully in a red box that looks so decent and clean with their signature tag and a personalized message from the owner.

I can't really wait but to taste the cupcakes and seriously give my verdict on these mouth-watering goodies. Before anything else, I'd like to say that I am really amazed on how this pastry shop name their cupcakes according to its flavors. Let's start with...

Pooh-La-La (Red Velvet Cupcake) - Php25.00 each
This brilliant red cupcake topped with luscious cream frosting is impressive. It is simply a seduction to the mouth because of its aroma and flavor. It has a hint of playful tackiness that makes this dessert gained a newfound popularity and for sure, this is one of the best-sellers in the establishment. Next is...

Barako (Mocha/Coffee Cupcake) - Php20.00 each
The taste of this gem is not a common coffee variety. From the name itself, it symbolizes the image of a tough man. This would definitely wake your senses up the same as how coffee does. It's a must-try. Lastly...

Koohkiss (Cookies and Cream) - Php20.00 each
This is one of my personal favorite flavor combinations. The rich, chocolatey flavor explodes in the mouth and it makes you ask for more. It is also topped generously with a cream frosting with lots and lots of popular Oreo cookies. Definitely another Oreo-y experience!

These are really tempting desserts that would make you cry out for more and I must be honest, I still have my strong desire to taste their other flavors - Hubad, which is just a pure, simple cupcake with no frosting and filling and my all-time favorite flavor, Lemon Limon Sinta which is the sweet and tangy cupcake that has a hint of lemon that surely titillates your taste buds. I will surely order the other flavors soon and will post again about it.

What are you waiting for? Try these cupcakes from Torta Og Uban Pa and let me hear your thoughts.
