My friends and I went to this talk-of-the-town French creperie in Capitol Site. I've been hearing a lot of good things about this establishment that they serve great crepes and galette.
What's the difference between a crepe and a galette? A crepe is a thin pancake that is made in a special crepe pan or in a griddle while a galette is a form of crepe made with buckwheat flour. It is also used to describe many flat round cakes of various sizes. That's a little trivia, huh?
A replica of the Eiffel Tower welcomes every customer before entering the cafe and will initially set the mood of being in Paris. When you get inside, you will instantly notice a touch of Filipino and French fusion because of its big furnitures made of wood giving it a homy ambiance plus the different views in Paris being framed and displayed on the walls together with their bottles of wines and French-themed books on the shelf. Plus, you get to listen to French-inspired songs which are supposed to be romantic but that night, I found the songs really weird. Well, maybe I was not used to it.
Looking at the menu, it is divided into two categories. If you are really hungry, you can go for Les Galettes (Php135-Php235), these are salted crepes made of buckwheat flour and if you are someone who has a sweet tooth, you can go for Les Crepes (Php95-Php135), mostly are made with fruits and drizzled with either chocolate syrup, salted caramel and nuts. However, if you are really craving and you want more, you can also Make-Your-Own or choose from their Les Combos (Php285), that's 1 crepe and 1 galette of your choice.
La Classique (Chef's Specialty) - Php170.00 |
La Fermiere - Php185.00 |
La Raclette - Php215.00 |
La Banane a Split (Chef's Specialty) - Php125.00 |
Certainly, this new creperie in town brought Paris to Cebu City. It is ideal for romantic dates or if you want to stay away from the crowd and treat yourself in a French way.
Go now and visit this place and let me hear your thoughts.
Jusqu'à la prochaine fois.
